The How To's of Product Creation ? Blogging for Money

May 20th, 2012

There are numerous options available for creating and selling your own products easily. This article will delve into some product creation ideas that might help you out. Discovering new methods and strategies is part and parcel of online business, so do not feel like it is just, you. If you are wondering about the possibilities available using Steven Johnson in your web business, then you should be excited because there are quite a few. If you are new to IM, then you need to exercise caution anytime you read about a marketing method in a short article, and the reason is you should never assume that is all there is to it.

However, having said that we must caution you about getting too comfortable with only doing one thing which is remaining in the learning phase.

The world is full of intelligent and highly talented people who only dream and never move forward to make their dreams real. Start thinking in terms of activities that help you earn or generate profits.

Successful products meet an existing demand for which people are willing to pay. However, this doesn?t always mean that your product has to be new on the inside. How can it be that you?ll most likely sell something that a dozen other marketers are selling. But what makes you different is your approach. You don?t have to go out there and re-invent the wheel. What you will do is simply become educated courtesy of existing products. Change your approach when you create your own product based on what you now know. You can market your product, and it will be legitimately different from the rest out there, and you?ll be solving a problem in that market. There is so much competition online that a big part of success is being and appearing to be different, and you need to achieve that with your product. If you can accomplish that, in time people will know and realize it, plus word will get around about you and it should be a good one. You do have to make some effort, of course, but the web is almost an infinite storehouse of product ideas, and you don?t have to go far to produce a product that a market will love and buy. However ? the best approach is not one that is like blowing in the wind. Your aim should be to create only those products that people want and are willing to pay for, and this can easily be done by following the hot trends on the web. Your part comes in with keeping a close eye on things, and then when you see something with potential you?ll have to do more research for viability. Ok, your mission is to spot something just starting to take off with public awareness (hot), and then prepare an appropriate and appealing offer and get it online while the buzz is still uptrending. It?s not difficult to research and monitor what is becoming popular. For example, you can sift through popular magazines or watch TV to know what people are currently interested in. Many times you can get tip-offs just by observing what millions of dollars are being spent on, for advertising, and then take a closer look at the product and the audience for it. You?ll benefit from just relaxing and trying some out of the box thinking.

One overlooked product creation tip actually has a basis in common sense. We all know that digital products sell really well and people want instant gratification, which is why they like such products that they can download immediately.

Yet there are some people who would prefer to buy physical products they can touch and feel. They prefer items that are tangible. It makes sense to offer good value physical products that can be shipped directly to those customers. You might sell a digital product initially and then upsell to a more in-depth physical product, such as a home study course.

In conclusion, the way to get successful on the Internet is to understand your target audience and give them what they want.

Kazor.com World Community News ? Web Contracting Inc. Leans …

May 20th, 2012

You are here: Home // employment // Web Contracting Inc. Leans On Core Values To Position Itself As Most Trusted Construction Company

Paola, KS ( Kazor ) May 16, 2012 ? Web Contracting Inc. retains its reputation as the most trusted company among home improvement contractors. This is largely because of their strict adherence to the core values propagated by their Founder, Walter Burkhart Jr. These core values were initially established to benefit their clients and the Company as well. Chief among these values include sensitivity to client preferences, transparency, integrity, and team spirit.

A report from the New York Department of Consumer Affairs suggests that complaints about home improvement and remodeling contractors exceeds far more than all other categories. People spend thousands of dollars to get their home renovated or remodeled, but if the output doesn?t justify the expenses, the effort is wasted. This is especially important in today?s times when home remodeling projects are very important to determine the resale value of a property.

?Walter was a decorated Vietnam war veteran. Value such as integrity, discipline, and transparency were a part of his character. It was natural that these attributes would reflect in the culture of the company. Even after his death, the Company is guided by his vision. The criteria and standards established by Walter are followed to date,? says the spokesperson at Web Contracting Inc.

Another distinguishing feature that separates Web Contracting Inc. from its peers is its commitment to corporate social responsibility. ?After Walter, it was Lynette who took over the reign, and has continued with his ideology. Under her guidance, we have made significant contributions to churches in the Northland and support New Houses- a shelter for battered women and children in Kansas City. Besides these, we support the American Heart Association, Central Missouri Humane Society, Wayside Waifs, Blue Valley School?the list goes on,? adds the spokesperson. In fact, Lynette believes that Web?s success is largely dependent on its ability to network and support other businesses.

Besides home improvement, Web Contracting Inc is also involved in hospital construction and is the preferred general contractors for reputed projects in and around Kansas City.

About Web Contracting Inc: Kansas City based General contractors, Web Contracting Inc. are the preferred choice for contracting jobs in and around Kansas City.

Giant galaxy-packed filament revealed

May 19th, 2012

ScienceDaily (May 17, 2012) ? A McGill-led research team using the Herschel Space Observatory has discovered a giant, galaxy-packed filament ablaze with billions of new stars. The filament connects two clusters of galaxies that, along with a third cluster, will smash together and give rise to one of the largest galaxy superclusters in the universe.

The filament is the first structure of its kind spied in a critical era of cosmic buildup when colossal collections of galaxies called superclusters began to take shape. The glowing galactic bridge offers astronomers a unique opportunity to explore how galaxies evolve and merge to form superclusters.

“We are excited about this filament, because we think the intense star formation we see in its galaxies is related to the consolidation of the surrounding supercluster,” said Kristen Coppin, a postdoctoral fellow in astrophysics at McGill and lead author of a new paper in Astrophysical Journal Letters.

“This luminous bridge of star formation gives us a snapshot of how the evolution of cosmic structure on very large scales affects the evolution of the individual galaxies trapped within it,” said Jim Geach, a co-author also based at McGill.

The intergalactic filament, containing hundreds of galaxies, spans 8 million light-years and links two of the three clusters that make up a supercluster known as RCS2319. This emerging supercluster is an exceptionally rare, distant object whose light has taken more than seven billion years to reach us.

RCS2319 is the subject of a huge observational study, led by Professor Tracy Webb and her group at McGill’s Department of Physics. Previous observations in visible and X-ray light had found the cluster cores and hinted at the presence of a filament. It was not until astronomers trained Herschel on the region, however, that the intense star-forming activity in the filament became clear. Dust obscures much of the star-formation activity in the early universe, but telescopes like Herschel can detect the infrared glow of this dust as it is heated by nascent stars. (The Herschel Space Observatory is a European Space Agency mission with important NASA contributions.)

The amount of infrared light suggests that the galaxies in the filament are cranking out the equivalent of about 1,000 solar masses (the mass of our sun) of new stars per year. For comparison’s sake, our Milky Way galaxy is producing about one solar mass-worth of new stars per year.

Researchers chalk up the blistering pace of star formation in the filament to the fact that galaxies within it are being crunched into a relatively small cosmic volume under the force of gravity. “A high rate of interactions and mergers between galaxies could be disturbing the galaxies’ gas reservoirs, igniting bursts of star formation,” said Geach.

By studying the filament, astronomers will be able to explore the fundamental issue of whether “nature” versus “nurture” matters more in the life progression of a galaxy. “Is the evolution of a galaxy dominated by intrinsic properties such as total mass, or do wider-scale cosmic environments largely determine how galaxies grow and change?” Geach asked. “The role of the environment in influencing galactic evolution is one of the key questions of modern astrophysics.”

The galaxies in the RCS2319 filament will eventually migrate toward the center of the emerging supercluster. Over the next seven to eight billion years, astronomers think RCS2319 will come to look like gargantuan superclusters in the local universe, like the nearby Coma cluster. These advanced clusters are chock-full of “red and dead” elliptical galaxies that contain aged, reddish stars instead of young ones.

“The galaxies we are seeing as starbursts in RCS2319 are destined to become dead galaxies in the gravitational grip of one of the most massive structures in the universe,” said Geach. “We’re catching them at the most important stage of their evolution.”

Facebook bet pays off for Russia’s Usmanov

May 19th, 2012

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia‘s richest man recognized the value of Facebook Inc three years ago when he invested in the social networking company and now stands to enjoy a payday of around $1 billion, propelling him further ahead of Russia’s oligarchs, who have largely stuck with oil and steel.

Alisher Usmanov, who topped Forbes magazine’s annual list of Russia’s richest investors in April, began his career making plastic bags and built his fortune in metals and mining. He is now worth $18.1 billion, up from $2.6 billion six years ago, according to Forbes.

It is Usmanov’s technology-related bets that have set him apart from his country’s rivals, and 2012 looks set to be a particularly lucrative year. Along with the Facebook stake that values the firm at 10 times what it was worth when he invested three years ago, Usmanov plans to float MegaFon, the $20 billion Russian telecoms firm he took control of last month.

“He has his fingers everywhere,” said one Moscow-based financial source who said he knows Usmanov.

“With MegaFon and Facebook, it looks as though he’ll be having a massive liquidity event. It’s quite incredible. It could be that he creates a huge holding company … or he could make a run at a big international company,” the source said.

Usmanov, 58, born in the Soviet republic of Uzbekistan, also controls iron ore miner Metalloinvest, Russian daily Kommersant, television assets and has a stake in London soccer club Arsenal.

AGGRESSIVE

Unlike Russia’s tycoons who won control of empires through loans-for-share privatization schemes of the 1990s, Usmanov built up Metalloinvest through a series of acquisitions following a stint at the investment arm of gas monopoly Gazprom.

“He’s a visionary person and saw some opportunities in the market – that’s how he made his fortune,” said a Moscow-based analyst who requested anonymity.

“Of course he has luck, but he was in the very beginning in the Internet, and he was aggressive.”

Usmanov is said to be close to the Kremlin, seen as crucial in Russia where business and politics are closely intertwined.

“He’s quite well politically connected, probably one of the closest, that means a lot,” said another Moscow-based analyst who also declined to be named.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re visionary or not, if you’re connected to top-level officials. That means if anything bad happens he’ll be helped.”

INTERNET BET

Usmanov owns his Facebook stake through investments made by funds of Digital Sky Technologies (DST)- the investment firm of Russian social media investment star Yuri Milner – and through Internet investor Mail.ru which was spun out of DST.

DST and Usmanov’s representative declined comment.

Together, DST and Mail.ru own Facebook shares valued at around $7 billion at the high point of the $34-$38 range for Facebook’s IPO on Friday, according to data in its prospectus.

Usmanov’s total stake in Facebook is now worth around $3 billion, a source familiar with the situation said. DSK and Mail.ru will sell 35 percent of their holdings in the offering, according to data provided in the prospectus. If that happens, Usmanov stands to make about $1 billion on the IPO.

“He’s brilliant in many ways,” said one person who knows Usmanov but who also requested anonymity. “He was probably one of the very few people in the world who at that time could have committed that capital to Internet investments.”

The first investment was made by Mail.ru which bought into Facebook in 2009, investing $200 million for a small stake that valued Facebook at $10 billion. Facebook’s IPO will value it around ten times that price – $104 billion if it prices at the top of the range.

“If you have the possibility to invest in a company with big upside potential before its public placement, it’s great for making money,” Usmanov told Forbes in 2010.

Subsequent investments were made by DST’s funds and included $100 million later in 2009 which valued Facebook at $6.5 billion, while another in 2011 was made in tandem with Goldman Sachs in a $500 million placement.

“(Usmanov) trusted people like Yuri Milner, (MegaFon CEO) Ivan Tavrin and a few other less well-known people … young people who get this space,” said a third Moscow-based analyst. “One thing which is key to this space is good people.”

Analysts expect DST and Mail.ru to unload their shares quickly.

“I think they’ll both aim to sell as much as possible and as much as practicable over a relatively quick period,” said the third analyst.

“Everyone wants to sell more rather than less. This has turned out to be a wonderful financial investment beyond what they could ever have hoped for, but to some extent they’ve got lucky and this isn’t core to what they do.”

Usmanov said in a recent interview with the New York Times that he plans to use money raised from the Facebook IPO to invest in his other Russian business and pay down debt.

“The idea is they’d look to take a lot of the profits off the table, and in terms of where they want to invest in the future, it’s probably things close to home, where they have a greater understanding,” said the analyst.

LePage signs state budget ? Politics ? Bangor Daily News ? BDN …

May 18th, 2012

AUGUSTA, Maine ? Gov. Paul LePage has signed into law a state budget rewrite that makes up for an $80 million shortfall largely through cuts in social services.

The governor signed the bill early Wednesday, hours after the House and Senate gave their final approval to the bill.

Republicans favored passage of the budget, which they said makes structural changes in Department of Health and Human Services programs.

House Speaker Robert Nutting says the budget represents an enormous step toward the goal of getting Maine?s fiscal house in order. The Oakland Republican says it will still protect the state?s safety net for those who truly need it.

Democrats say the budget will harm seniors and working families by eliminating home visitation services, early childhood education, MaineCare for 19- and 20-year-olds and seniors? drugs.

Judge: Rapper Luther Campbell fit to coach high school football

May 18th, 2012

TALLAHASSEE — He may have once been as nasty as he wanted to be, but rapper Luther Campbell “does not pose a risk to the safety of the students entrusted to him,” and should be allowed to coach high school football in Miami, a state administrative judge has recommended.

Campbell should get the certificate allowing him to continue to coach, subject to a long list of conditions, Administrative Law Judge Robert E. Meale said Tuesday in what amounts to a suggestion. The Department of Education’s Education Practices Commission could still deny Campbell the certificate.

More than 20 years after his raunchy rise to fame as front man of the rap group 2 Live Crew, Campbell is seeking the state coaching certification. But the Department of Education turned him down in 2010, citing a 1980s gun charge, a 2003 plea deal that stemmed from a lewd performance in South Carolina, a charge of inciting a riot while DJing, and several other transgressions.
The agency had called Campbell’s criminal past “storied,” but Meale noted that most of his criminal history was made up of arrests for which the charges were dropped or for which adjudication was withheld. Two misdemeanors were relevant, he agreed, but they occurred more than 25 years ago.

Besides, Campbell, 52, has already been helping out in coaching football ? and so far has been a model citizen, the judge said in ruling in favor of the rapper.

“For the past seven years, Petitioner has had significant direct contact with vulnerable youth without any reported problems,” Meale wrote in a 51-page order. “In light of this critical fact, the 1979 misdemeanor, 1986 misdemeanor, and Petitioner’s former involvement with 2LC and the adult entertainment industry lose whatever contrary predictive value that they might otherwise have.

“Simply put, Petitioner does not resemble the youth who committed the 1979 misdemeanor or 1986 misdemeanor or the man who performed with and promoted 2LC 20 years ago,” Meale concluded.

But Meale recommended that certain conditions be in place for Campbell to keep his coaching certificate if he’s granted one, because of the rapper’s past, the nature of his previous work, and because, he said, at his hearing Campbell didn’t seem to accept personal responsibility for some of the questionable elements of his history.

But mostly, Meale urged the education department to consider the person Campbell has been in the last couple of decades. Campbell started the Liberty City Optimist youth football program in the troubled area of inner city Miami in the early 1990s, and, Meale noted, put about $80,000 of his own money into the program, which now serves about 6,000 boys and girls, and includes a variety of sports and other programs. His wife, an attorney, runs a cheerleading program affiliated with the football league.

“Although there have been some football-famous graduates of the program, such as Chad Johnson, the program’s larger success is that 90 percent of the first group of youth to complete the program started college,” Meale wrote.

Among those who testified on Campbell’s behalf was former state Rep. Hank Harper, who once was an intern for Campbell and who enlisted his help in get-out-the-vote campaigns. He testified that Campbell’s private persona was different from that of the famous rapper ? and that his public image was largely an act for his business.

“Whatever image of garish defiance that Petitioner may have cultivated during his 2LC-era, by the start of (the 2000s), he was never arrested again on charges that resulted in an admission of guilt, a no-contest plea, or a finding of guilt, except for the child-support arrest,” Meale noted. And in that case ? he paid support to settle the charge.

Campbell moved in 2009 from coaching youth football to working as an assistant at Miami Central Senior High, where his wife taught a law class. Later, he moved to coaching at Miami Northwestern under temporary approval issued by Miami-Dade County. But he needs the state certificate to continue.

Meale even credits Campbell with helping Miami Central improve academically, noting that he was involved in an effort to bring students’ grades up and the school was an F school when he started coaching and was a B school when he left. Northwestern also improved academically.

Campbell also argued in his petition that the players’ parents aren’t really concerned about his past ? in fact, it’s the opposite, with players mothers knowing him from “when he was a DJ on the street corner.”

Meale recommended that Campbell be on probation for five years, with his certificate reviewed every year. He also would have to notify the state if he were to perform or produce any “sexually explicit song.”

In defining whether a song would be explicit ? the judge said it would include any song “that would be inappropriate for the football team weight room.” He also noted that Campbell ? who is currently in charge of the football weight room at Miami Northwestern ? doesn’t allow 2 Live Crew music to be played.

The Education Practices Commission could accept Meale’s recommendation, amend it, or choose not to accept it, said Cheryl Etters, a spokeswoman for the Department of Education. If the commission were to deny Campbell the certificate, he could appeal to the First District Court of Appeal.

13th Annual Research Half Day showcases latest innovations in mental health

LONDON, ON Today, local scientists and students are sharing leading research in mental health. The 13th Annual Research Half Day, hosted by Lawson Health Research Institute and St. Joseph’s Health Care London’s Regional Mental Health Care (RMHC) London and St. Thomas, will present science that could change the course of patient care.

Projects reflect a broad range of innovations in mental health, from alternative treatments to assistive technologies to genetic sequencing. For example, researchers will share new insights into the impact of ginseng on the cardiac health of schizophrenia patients, the potential for smart phones to improve care, and the effects of humor on treatment and quality of life.

Event highlights include the 8th Annual Tony Cerenzia Research Lecture, presented by Dr. Sheilagh Hodgins, Professor and Head of the Department of Forensic Mental Health Science at King’s College in London, England. Dr. Hodgins will explore the neurobiological mechanisms and abnormalities associated with violence among people with psychosis.
